Daniel Sanchez is a professional musician living in Austin, TX. Originally from Atlanta, GA and raised in Lubbock, TX, Daniel moved to Austin in 2009 after 10 years of performing in New York City. After arriving in Austin, he quickly became an in-demand musician across multiple styles and genres. His musical versatility ushered in performance opportunities with work in rock, jazz, pop, country, latin bands and included 2 years performing as the house drummer for Parker Jazz Club in downtown Austin. Some additional performance credits include work with Wynton Marsalis (Jazz at Lincoln Center Orchestra), Dan Nimmer (JLCO), Veronica Swift (Mack Avenue Recording Artist), Andre Hayward (JLCO), Jeff Coffin (Dave Matthews Band), Rich Redmond (Jason Aldean), Alan Haynes (Texas Blues Legend), Douglas Lawrence (Count Basie Orchestra), Kenny Williams (The Lion King), Ron Wilkins (Birdland Big Band), The Ryan Davis Trio (jazz piano trio), Marcos Antonio Santos (guitarist/ composer), Chris McQueen (Forq/ Snarky Puppy), and more. Additionally, he has served as a guest performer, clinician, and educator for a number of high schools and collegiate institutions while living once again in Texas. This includes working with Genesis Drum & Bugle Corps since 2013.
Daniel attended The Texas Tech University School of Music where he earned degrees in Music Education and Music Performance. While attending Texas Tech, Daniel performed in many ensembles including the Grammy nominated Jazz Ensemble 1, The Goin’ Band From Raiderland from 1994 to 1997 and more. Additionally he marched for Drum Corps International with The World Class 1997 Pioneer Drum & Bugle Corps from Milwaukee, WI.
Currently Daniel continues to perform in jazz, rock, country, and pop styles all across the state of Texas. He is also an active performer in multiple music ministries in the greater Austin area. He is proud to represent two amazing Texas based companies as a drum-set artist for both Salyers Percussion and A&F Drum Co. Daniel lives in Round Rock, TX with his amazing wife of 21 years and their three cats: Ripley, Thomas, and Ezekiel.
